This bronze medal was won by Vasily Pervukhin while playing for Moscow Dynamo in the Russian Leagues. Pervukhin was a Soviet Union defenseman who began playing for the National Team in 1976-77 at the World Championships. He joined the Russian League in 1978-79 with Moscow Dynamo and played there for 15 different seasons. Mostly known for his International contribution, Pervukhin played in the World Championships on 9 different occasions, all 3 Canada Cups in the 1980’s and the 1980 and 1984 Olympics. He finished his International career with a medal in every World Championships in which he played, including 6 golds; a gold medal and a silver medal in 2 Olympics; and the gold medal in the 1981 Canada Cup.
This medal is 1 ½ inches round and is quite heavy. A beautiful and rare medal from the former Soviet Union.
