Description
Uwe Krupp Detroit Red Wings Black CCM Game Used Stick
Lot #485

This black CCM Groovelite 1052 hockey stick was game used by Uwe Krupp while playing for the Detroit Red Wings. The Buffalo Sabres selected Krupp in the 11th round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Born in Cologne, Germany, this towering 6’ 6” defenseman spent a handful of years playing in Germany before joining the Sabres in 1986-87. Early in his 6th season with Buffalo, Uwe was dealt to the New York Islanders as part of the Pat LaFontaine & Pierre Turgeon blockbuster. Krupp spent 3 years on the Island before joining the Quebec Nordiques in 1994-95. After just one strike shortened season with the Nords, the team relocated to Colorado where Uwe would spend the next 3 seasons and be an integral part of the franchise’s first Stanley Cup Championship. Krupp then joined the Detroit Red Wings and early on suffered a back injury that ultimately ended his career and required back surgery. Krupp played in the 1991 NHL All Star game and represented Germany in the World Championships as well as the Olympics.

This black CCM stick has the player name “Krupp” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. It is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
