This white hockey catcher by Vaughn was game worn by Tuukka Rask while playing for the Boston Bruins. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Rask in the 1st round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. This native of Finland spent several years playing for Ilves Tampere in Finland’s SM-liiga before coming over to North America. Before he ever stepped foot on the ice for the Leafs, they traded Tuukka to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Andrew Raycroft. What a lopsided deal that turned out to be for the Bruins. Rask now has 8 seasons of service between the pipes for the Bruins and in the spring of 2011 he became only the 2nd Finnish born goalie in history to capture the Stanley Cup. In 2013, Rask led the Bruins to their 2nd Stanley Cup Finals in 3 seasons, only to fall to the Chicago Blackhawks in 6 games. Following the 2014 season, Tuukka was awarded the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender.
He was also honored as a NHL First Team All Star.
This white Vaughn catcher has the player name “Rask” stitched to the back. Shown above are numerous photo matches of Rask wearing this exact catcher. The catcher shows great game use.
