Tim Cheveldae Boston Bruins Mask
Lot #202

This item comes directly from the personal collection of Hall of Fame Trainer, Ken “Doc” Fleger.

This beautiful goalie mask was created by Dom Malerba, the man behind The Pro’s Choice mask company. Chevaldae broke onto the scene in the late 1980’s as a member of the Detroit Red Wings. He played his first 6 seasons in the Motor City and in 1991-92 led the NHL in games played with 72 and Wins with 38. Following his time in Detroit he headed west to Winnipeg where he represented the Jets for parts of 3 seasons. His last stop was Boston where he manned the nets for a total of 2 games during the 1996-97 season which perfectly ties this dated mask to his brief stay in Beantown.

This beautiful hand painted creation by Dom Malerba is completely original in all respects. Dom’s trademark The Pro’s Choice stickers, his Made in America sticker and his dated signature from 1996 are inside just as they’re supposed to be. A custom Velcro band is attached inside just where Chevaldae’s forehead would lie. The backplate with “Chevy” painted on and the chin guard remains perfectly affixed by the original straps and snaps. This mask shows light use, having been likely tried by Chevy during practice. Photos show that in the 2 games he started for the Bruins he wore an all white mask.
