Ted Lindsay Detroit Red Wings Northland Game Used Stick 1955-56 Team Signed Stanley Cup Finals Season
Lot #410

This Northland Pro hockey stick was game used by Hall of Famer Ted Lindsay while playing for the Detroit Red Wings. Lindsay made his NHL debut with the Red Wings in 1944-45 at the age of 19. He was joined on a line with Sid Abel at center and Gordie Howe on right wing to form the “Production Line”, one of the most famous hockey lines in history. “Terrible Ted” became one of the best players in the NHL, winning the Art Ross Trophy in 1949-50 and 4 Stanley Cup Championships. He was 8 times a 1st Team NHL All Star, once a 2nd Team NHL All Star and played in 11 All Star Games. Linsday started the tradition of lifting the Stanley Cup and skating around the rink. Lindsay and fellow Hall of Famer Doug Harvey were instrumental in forming the NHL Player’s Association. He was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.

This Northland stick has the player name “Lindsay” stamped to the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. The "Lippman's Tool Shop" and "Northland Ski Mfg" stamps are on both sides. It has been signed by at least 13 members of the 1955-56 Red Wings including Ted Lindsay, Jim Skinner (d. 2007), Murray Costello, Marty Pavelich, Earl “Dutch” Reibel (d. 2007), Alex Delvecchio, Metro Prystai (d. 2013), Red Kelly, Bucky Hollingworth (d. 1974), Lorne Ferguson (d. 2008), Warren Godfrey (d. 1997) and Bill Dineen (d. 2016). There are a few more signatures, which are too faded to make out. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
