Description
Steven Staios Edmonton Oilers Bauer Game Worn Helmet - Photo Match
Lot #348
This blue hockey helmet by Bauer was game worn by Steven Staios while playing for the Edmonton Oilers. Staios broke into the NHL in 1995-96 with the Boston Bruins where he played for 2 seasons. Steve next headed northwest and took up residence in Vancouver. He remained with the Canucks for 2+ years before spending 2 seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers. In 2001, Staios joined the Oilers where he skated for 8 seasons, before a deadline deal sent him to Calgary in 2010. Steve spent the 2010-11 season with the Flames and spent his last year as a member of the New York Islanders. Staios amassed 1001 games of NHL service to go along with 1322 PIMS. He announced his retirement at the end of the 2011-12 season and was hired as a player development advisor for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This blue helmet has the player number “24” on back. The Oilers logo is on both sides, but is starting to peel up. A red, white and blue ribbon is on the back left opposite the NHL shield. This helmet can be photo matched to Getty picture #1487478 dated 28 Nov 2001 and #53133144 dated 10 Jan 2002 although the helmet has different logos on the sides in those photos.
