Steve Shutt Canadiens Game Worn Helmet - Autographed - Shutt Letter
Lot #270

It is with great pleasure that we bring to the hobby this helmet from the  personal collection of Montreal Canadien’s Hall of Famer Steve Shutt. His awesome collection of game worn jerseys and equipment was impeccably preserved by Steve since the day they last saw the ice. A letter from Steve Shutt will accompany your purchase.

This road blue gamer by Jofa was worn by Steve Shutt while with the Montreal Canadiens. Shutt patrolled the Left Wing on one of the greatest lines in NHL history alongside fellow Hall of Famers Guy Lafleur and Jacques Lemaire. He was an integral part of the Canadiens dynasty of the 1970’s, winning 5 Stanley Cups in all during that decade. The 1976-77 season saw Steve lead the NHL in goals with 60. With this total he became only the 2nd player in the history of the league to ever score 60 goals in a season.

Shutt was 3 times a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star and he represented the Canadiens in 4 NHL All Star games. His 424 career goals were one of the better totals accumulated during his era as were his 50 playoff goals and nearly 100 playoff points. Steve had a knack for scoring the big goal and will forever be remembered as one of the finest Left Wingers of his generation. His 1993 Hall of Fame induction was well deserved and never in doubt.

The game wear on this Jofa helmet is tremendous having obviously been worn extensively by this Hall of Fame winger. On the inside padding is a black sharpie signature in Shutt’s own hand. It is beautifully inscribed “Game Used, Steve Shutt #22, HOF 93”. This historic piece of game worn hockey history has remained in Mr. Shutt’s personal collection since the day it last saw game action on the ice. Perhaps the only game used Shutt helmet one will ever see available for sale. It is ready for inclusion in any Hall of Fame collection.
