Description
Stan Jonathan Boston Bruins/Pittsburgh Penguins Sher-Wood Game Issued Stick
Lot #321
This Sher-Wood PMP 5030 hockey stick was issued for use by Stan Jonathan while playing for either the Boston Bruins or Pittsburgh Penguins. Jonathan was drafted by the Boston Bruins and Indianapolis Racers in the 1975 NHL and WHA Amateur Drafts respectively. After playing a single game for the Bruins in 1975-76, Jonathan joined the Bruins full time in 1976-77 and played the next 7 seasons with the Bruins before joining the Penguins in 1982-83 for 19 games. Jonathan was as tough as they come but could also light the lamp as displayed by his two 20 Goals seasons including 27 Goals in 1977-78. Jonathan’s most famous moment might have come in the 1978 Stanley Cup Finals where he beat Pierre Bouchard in a brawl in game 4.  Even though Jonathan was 6 inches shorter and 30 pounds lighter, Jonathan broke Bouchard’s nose and cheekbone while knocking him to the ice. Jonathan’s best PIM season was 1979-80 with 208.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player name and number “Jonathan 17” stamped on the side. It is un-taped and shows no use. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
