After starting the 2015-16 season with the Phantoms, Gostisbehere was called up a month into the NHL season, scoring a point in his very first game. The 2015-16 season saw Gostisbehere score 17 Goals and 46 Points in only 64 Games Played. In February, he broke Barry Beck’s record for a rookie defenseman, while scoring in 15 straight games. He became the first rookie in NHL history to record 4 OT Goals in a season. For his efforts, he was voted to the NHL All Rookie Team and finished 2nd in the voting for the Calder Trophy. “Ghost” has two Barry Ashbee Trophies as the Flyers best defenseman. In July of 2021, after parts of 7 seasons in Philly, Shayne was traded to the Arizona Coyotes where he’s in his second season.
