This white hockey helmet by Nike/Bauer was game worn by Sergei Gonchar while playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals. Gonchar is a 15-year veteran who has been among the steadiest defenseman of his generation. He spent the first 10 seasons of his career in the nation’s capital, where he was consistently among the goal leaders of all NHL defensemen. After a short stop in Beantown, Sergei joined the Penguins where he prospered for 5 years. Gonchar then inked a 3-year deal with the Senators before joining the Dallas Stars for the 2013-14 season. During his career he has made three trips to the Cup Finals, once with Washington and twice with the Penguins where he walked away victorious in 2009, the year in which he wore this helmet. Sergei represented team Russia in two World Cups of Hockey, numerous World Championships and in three Olympic Games. He is a 2-time 2nd Team NHL All Star and has partaken in 5 NHL All Star games.
