Ryan Miller Buffalo Sabres Red, White & Blue Vaughn Game Worn Pads – Autographed by Miller and Jim Craig – Worn in 2002-03 - Rookie – Photo Match
Lot #527

These red, white & blue hockey pads by Vaughn were game worn by Ryan Miller while represtenting Team USA in the 2002 IIHF World Championships; while playing for the Rochester Americans in 2002-03 and in his rookie season of 2002-03 with the Buffalo Sabres. The Buffalo Sabres selected Miller in the 5th round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at Michigan State University where he won the Hobey Baker Award, this East Lansing, MI native began his NHL career with Buffalo in 2002-03. Miller spent 11 seasons in Buffalo and won the Vezina Trophy in 2009-10. During his time with the Sabres, Miller compiled 284 Wins and 28 shutouts. After leaving Buffalo, Miller played a partial season in St. Louis before spending 3 years in Vancouver. Miller joined the Anaheim Ducks prior to the start of the 2017-18 season, where he has played the last three seasons. Already to his credit are 387 Wins which place him top 15 all-time, an All Star Game appearance, a 1st Team NHL All Star selection, a Vezina Trophy and a couple of Olympic appearances between the pipes for Team USA where he won a Silver Medal in 2010 and was named an Olympic All Star, Olympic Best Goaltender and Olympic MVP.

These red, white & Blue Vaughn Vision pads have the player name “Miller” stitched to the side. Shown above are a couple of photo matches of Miller wearing these exact pads in 2002-03, both with the Americans and his rookie season with the Sabres. The pads show solid game use and have been autographed by Ryan as well as Jim Craig, although the Craig autographs have faded quite a bit.
