These red, white and blue Reebok hockey gloves were game worn by defenseman Roman Hamrlik while playing for the Washington Capitals. The Tampa Bay Lightning selected Hamrlik with the 1st overall pick in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft, their first as a franchise. This native of the Czech Republic began his NHL career with Tampa Bay in 1992-93 and spent the first 6 years of a 22-year NHL career with the Lightning. Roman would also represent the Oilers, Islanders, Flames, Canadiens, Capitals and Rangers. Hamrlik played nearly 1400 NHL games in his career. Roman is a 3-time NHL All Star who has represented his country in the World Championships, 2 World Cups and 2 Olympics.
