Description
Rod Langway Washington Capitals White Canadien Game Used Stick
Lot #480

This white Canadien 6001 hockey stick was game used by Hall of Famer Rod Langway while playing for the Washington Capitals. Langway was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens and Birmingham Bulls in the 1977 Entry NHL and WHA Drafts respectively. After 1 season in the WHA with the Bulls, he joined the Canadiens for the 1978-79 season and celebrated the Habs 4th consecutive Stanley Cup that spring. Langway played for the Canadiens for 4 years until a blockbuster trade brought him to the Washington Capitals to start the 1982-83 season. Langway was named Captain of the Capitals upon his arrival and kept that honor for the entire 11 years he played in the Nation’s Capitol. It was also no coincidence that, after not making the playoffs for the first 8 seasons of their existence, the Capitals made the playoffs for the entire 11-year stint Langway was with the team.

Rod was a 2-time Norris Trophy winner, twice a 1st or 2nd NHL All Star and played in 6 NHL All Star games. On the International stage, Rod represented the United States in the 1981, 1984 and 1987 Canada Cups as well as the Rendez-Vous ’87. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002.

This white Canadien hockey stick has the player name “Langway” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. It is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
