This Reebok Pro hockey stick was game used by Roberto Luongo while playing for the Florida Panthers. The New York Islanders selected Luongo with the 4th overall pick in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Luongo spent but one season on Long Island before being traded to the Florida Panthers where he immediately assumed the role as the Panthers starting goaltender. After 5 productive years with Florida, Luongo joined the Vancouver Canucks where, in 8 seasons, he carved out his stake as one of the NHL’s premiere netminders. Prior to 2013-14 trading deadline, Luongo was dealt back to the Florida Panthers. Luongo has played in 3 NHL All Star games, was twice named 2nd Team NHL All Star and was the winner of the 2011 Jennings Trophy. In 2011 he led the Canucks to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the strength of 4 playoff shutouts. Not to be forgotten was his stellar performance in leading Team Canada to the 2010 Olympic Gold Medal. Luongo has appeared for Team Canada in 2 Olympics, the World Cup of Hockey and numerous World Championships.
This Reebok hockey stick has the player name “R. Luongo” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt. The blade tape has been removed so Roberto could autograph it. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
