This Sher-Wood PMP 5030 hockey stick was issued for use by Rob McClanahan while playing for the Hartford Whalers and/or the New York Rangers. The Buffalo Sabres selected McClanahan in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. McClanahan, who played at the University of Minnesota under Herb Brooks, won the 1979 NCAA National Championship with the Gophers. After playing in Moscow at the 1979 World Championships, McClanahan joined the US Olympic team and the rest, as they say, is history. McClanahan scored 5 Goals in 7 Olympic game to help the US to the Gold Medal miracle. In fact, McClanahan scored the winning goal in the gold medal game vs. Finland. McClanahan’s NHL career saw him play for the Sabres, Whalers and Rangers.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player name “MacClanahan” stamped on the side. It is un-taped and shows no use. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
