Description
Phil Esposito Boston Bruins Autographed National Hockey League Magazine Cover
Lot #607

Phil led the NHL in goals in 6 consecutive seasons from 1969-70 thru 1974-75. During that span he tallied 4 seasons of 60 goals or better including his record setting 76. To that point in NHL history, no other player had ever scored 60 goals, not even once. Only Mike Bossy and Wayne Gretzky’s 5 seasons of 60 goals top Espo’s mark. Phil also held the NHL record for most points in a season for 20 years with his 152 until Gretzky surpassed it in the early 1980’s. Phil stands as one of a select few players in NHL history to have scored 700 career goals, with his total of 717. His 1590 career points rank him 8th on the NHL’s all-time scoring list.

Phil was 6-times a 1st and 2-times a 2nd team NHL All Star and appeared in 10 NHL All Star games. To his credit are 4 trips to the Stanley Cup Finals that include 2 Stanley Cup championships. Phil played key roles for Team Canada during the 1972 Summitt Series and the 1976 Canada Cup. During the infamous 1972 Summitt Series, Phil led Team Canada in goals, assists and points during that historic 8-game clash with the Russians. His other hardware includes the Lester Patrick trophy for outstanding service to hockey in the United States, 5 Art Ross Trophies for leading the NHL in scoring, 2 Lester B. Pearson awards as the NHL’s outstanding player along with 2 Hart Memorial Trophies as league MVP. Espo was one of the greatest to ever play the game.

The magazine cover is in very nice condition and the signature is a 10.
