Lot #321
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The Michel Goulet Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks, game worn equipment and memorabilia come directly from the personal collection of Hockey Hall of Famer, Michel Goulet. Mr. Goulet personally collected and preserved these items over the course of his legendary NHL career. A signed letter from Mr. Goulet will accompany your purchase.

This white hockey jersey was manufactured by Pro-Joy. Shmyr began his NHL career with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1968-69. He spent 3 seasons with the Hawks and then spent a year with the Golden Seals before bolting for the upstart WHA in their inaugural season of 1972-73. After the WHA folded, Shmyr returned to the NHL, playing for the North Stars and Whalers before retiring. Shmyr played in all 7 WHA seasons and is widely regarded as one of the best defensemen in league history. Paul played in 6 WHA All Star games as well as the 1974 Summit Series against the Russians. He was 3 times a 1st Team WHA All Star and 1 time a 2nd team WHA All Star and was the recipient of the Dennis A. Murphy Trophy as the league’s best defenseman in 1976. Shmyr was one of the WHA’s all-time greats and was recognized as the 25th best player in WHA history, and its 3rd best defenseman in a poll taken some years ago.

This white Crusaders jersey, size M, has the player name “Shmyr” on the back. The player number “3” is on both sleeves and the back. This fresh to the hobby example comes directly from the personal collection of Michel Goulet and will be accompanied by his signed LOA.
