This purple hockey helmet by CCM was game worn by Paul Kariya while playing for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Kariya won the Hobey Baker Award while with the University of Maine and was selected 4th overall in the 1993 NHL entry draft by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Paul spent his first 9 seasons with the Ducks before playing for a year in Colorado, two with Nashville and finally three with the St. Louis Blues. To his credit are 2 Lady Byng Trophies, which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability. Paul was 5-times a 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star and played in 7 NHL All Star games. During his last season, Kariya joined the 400-goal club, ending his career with 402. He registered exactly a point per game during his NHL career with 989 total. On the international stage, Kariya represented Team Canada’s National Team and partook in the World Championships and 2 Olympics.
This purple CCM helmet has the player number “9” on the back. The Mighty Ducks name is on both sides while the Mighty Ducks logo is on both sided of the back. The Itech faceshield still resides on the front. Paul has personally signed the helmet on the top although the signature is slightly faded.
