This red Montreal 99Graphite hockey stick was game used by Nicklas Lidstrom very early in his Hall of Fame career. The Detroit Red Wings selected Lidstrom in the 3rd round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. After playing a few seasons in his native Sweden, Lidstrom joined the Red Wings in 1991-92 and didn’t leave until announcing his retirement at the end of the 2011-12 season. To his credit are 20 seasons wearing the Winged Wheel with 1564 NHL games played, good for 10th most in NHL history. During that time, Lidstrom scored 264 goals, added 878 assists and totaled 1142 points. Lidstrom retired with the 2nd most playoff games played in NHL history with 263, scoring 54 goals, 129 assists and 183 points. He is a 4-time Stanley Cup winner who also has to his credit an incredible 7 Norris Trophies (only Bobby Orr has more) and a Conn Smythe Trophy. Lidstrom was 12 times a 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star and played in 11 NHL All Star games, a testament to his combination of longevity and skill. Internationally, Lidstrom has represented Team Sweden in the 1991 Canada Cup, the 1996 and 2004 World Cup and 4 Olympics.



This red Montreal stick has the player name “Lidstrom” stamped to the side. The player number “5” is written in black marker on the butt tape. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. Lidstrom used this model Montreal stick during his first few seasons, making this a possible rookie stick. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
