Here’s a rarely offered treat. The Islanders wore their Fisherman jerseys for parts of 2 seasons circa 1995-97 before sending them into retirement. Here is a practice worn jersey from that era. The nameplate is no longer attached to the sewn Velcro that resides between the shoulders on back so it is impossible to determine which Islander wore this jersey.

This size 56 CCM air-knit features a circular sewn center ice crest with stick marks board burns and un-repaired holes doting the body and sleeves. The interior features heavy pilling, leaving little doubt that somebody was working hard to impress his coaches or teammates while wearing this sweater. Nice piece of Islanders team history.
