This black mesh gamer by Cooper was worn by Shayne Corson during OHL All Star play circa the Mid 1980’s. The Montreal Canadiens selected Corson with the 8th overall pick in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. Following 3 seasons of dynamic Junior hockey in the OHL, Corson began his NHL career with the Stanley Cup winning 1986 Canadiens squad where he spent the first 7 seasons of his NHL career. Shayne moved on to spend 3 seasons with the Oilers and parts of 2 more with the Blues before returning to Montreal for 4 seasons. Corson completed his 19-year NHL career with a 3-year stint in Toronto and a final season with the Dallas Stars. All told this gritty 30-goal scorer played in 1156 NHL games while amassing 2357 PIMS and played in 3 NHL All Star Games.
Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. Typical light All Star game wear exists on this size XL sweater. On the back player number is a beautiful blue sharpie signature in Corson’s own hand. A beautiful all-sewn-on Captain’s gamer from the pre-NHL days of this fierce competitor.
