Description
Mid 1980's Mike Vernon Flames Game Worn Jersey
Lot #38

This home white mesh gamer by CCM was worn by Mike Vernon during the mid 1980’s. To his credit is a Jenning’s Trophy for fewest goals allowed in a season, (2) Stanley Cup championships and a Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. Vernon is ranked 10th in all-time NHL wins by a goaltender with 385. These accomplishments help make a strong case for a future Hall of Fame induction.

Sewn to the left shoulder is the 1988 Calgary Olympic patch. In addition to stick and puck marks, splattered along the right breast and upper arm area is a large area of washed-out blood. Presumably Mike got popped while wearing this sweater, which was also the likely cause for it being removed from circulation. These 1980’s era gamers are no longer as plentiful as they once were as astute collectors continue to add them to their collections.
