Description
Mid 1980s Guy Carbonneau Montreal Canadiens Game Worn Jersey
Lot #31

This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Guy Carbonneau during the mid 1980’s. The Montreal Canadiens selected Carbonneau in the 3rd round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Guy made his NHL debut in 1980-81 with Les Habitants and spent the first 13 years of his 19-year, 1318-game NHL career with Montreal. Following 2 Stanley Cup titles with the Canadiens, Carbonneau spent a season with the St. Louis Blues before joining the Dallas Stars where he spent the final 5 years of his storied career. During his final 2 years with the Stars, Carbonneau made back-to-back trips to the Stanley Cup Finals and skated away with his 3rd Stanley Cup ring. In the tradition of Bob Gainey before him, Carbonneau took over the reigns as the NHL’s best defensive forward and was so recognized with 3 Frank J. Selke Trophies spanning 1988 to 1992.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, material pulls, stitch pops, fine inner pilling and a handful of classic Montreal Canadiens bullet style team-sewn repairs. Also worthy of mention is a black sharpie mark on the sleeve. A terrific well-worn vintage offering of this Montreal Canadiens legend and former Team Captain of Les Habitants.
