This beautiful matted & famed display, measuring 16 x 20, commemorates Hall of Fame teammates Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau.

Richard had an amazing 18-year NHL career, all with the Montreal Canadiens. He was part of 8 Stanley Cups winning teams and won 5 straight Stanley Cups during his last 5 seasons in the NHL. The Canadiens record of 5 straight Stanley Cups still stands today. Richard also won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's Most Valuable player in 1946-47. In 1944-45, Richard became the first player ever to score 50 goals in 50 games. He was also the first player ever to score 500 goals in a career. Maurice had a record six playoff overtime winning goals, a record he presently shares with Joe Sakic. In the now revered ‘The Hockey News’ book which ranked the 50 greatest players in NHL history. Maurice was honored as the 5th greatest player ever in that publication. Unfortunately, Maurice passed away in 2000.

Beliveau scored 507 goals and 1219 points in 1125 regular season games. In 162 playoff contests, on his way to 10 Stanley Cup titles, Beliveau netted 79 goals and 176 points, a lofty total still to this day and a mark that was the best of all-time when he hung up his skates! Beliveau owns an Art Ross Trophy as the NHL’s scoring leader and 2 Hart Trophies as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player. Jean was also the recipient of the very first Conn Smythe Trophy awarded to the playoff MVP in 1965. One wonders how many might reside on his mantel were the award established a decade earlier. When discussions occur about hockey’s all-time greats, most include this 6’3” 205lb. Center. In the famed publication by The Hockey News, the Top 50 NHL Players Of All-Time, Jean Beliveau was ranked 7th on that prestigious list. Unfortunately, Jean passed away late in 2014.
