Description
Marty Howe Northland Game Used Stick - Lot Includes Gordie Howe WHA Autographed stick
Lot #327

This lot contains two sticks, a game used Marty Howe Northland and an unused Gordie Howe autographed Koho.

This Northland hockey stick was game used by Marty Howe.  Howe was drafted in the third round, 51st overall, in the 1974 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. The son of Gordie Howe started his junior career with the Toronto Marlboros of the OHL. In 1973 he chose to join his father Gordie, and brother Mark, to play with the Houston Aeros of the WHA.  It was then onto the New England Whalers where he again played with his father starting in 1977-78.  Even though he was drafted by the Canadiens , he did not play in the NHL until 1979, when the Whalers and the WHA joined the NHL.  Marty played in the 1976 WHA All Star game.  Although Marty Howe was born and raised in Detroit he never represented the United States in international hockey. Having dual citizenship, his only international appearance was as a member of Team Canada during the 1974 Summit Series versus the Soviet Union.

This Northland stick has the player name "Howe Marty" on the side.  This stick is fully taped on the butt.

This unused Koho hockey stick was personally autographed by Gordie Howe.  The stick has the player name "Gordie Howe" on the side.  There is a beautiful autograph on the blade.
