The Quebec Nordiques selected Fernandez in the 3rd round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Manny began his NHL career with the Dallas Stars in 1994-95 and spent his first 5 seasons with the club. In 2000 he joined the Minnesota Wild where he spent his next 6 years. During that time he captured the 2006-07 Jennings Trophy in his last year with the Wild. Manny spent his final 2 NHL seasons with the Boston Bruins, wrapping up his career following the 2008-09 season.
