Lorne “Gump” Worsley Minnesota North Stars Sher-Wood Game Used Stick – The Al Jensen Collection – Al Jensen Letter
Lot #383
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The Al Jensen Collection. This exciting collection of game used equipment and memorabilia comes directly from the personal collection of NHL goaltender, Al Jensen. Mr. Jensen personally collected and preserved these items that span his days from juniors through his NHL career. A signed letter from Mr. Jensen will accompany your purchase.

This Sher-Wood hockey stick was game used by Hall of Famer “Gump” Worley while playing for the Minnesota North Stars. Gump played parts of 21 NHL seasons with the Rangers, Canadiens and North Stars and, when he retired, had played more games at goal then anyone except Terry Sawchuk and Glenn Hall. He won the Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1965, 1966, 1968 and 1969 and won the Vezina trophy in 1966 and 1968. He was twice a first or second team NHL All Star and played in 4 All Star games. Gump was one of the last two goaltenders to play without a mask, doing so until his final NHL season. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1980. Worsley suffered a heart attack on January 22, 2007 and died four days later at age 77.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player name “Worsley” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt, shaft and blade. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition and comes directly from the personal collection of Al Jensen and will be accompanied by his LOA.
