Late 1990s Danton Cole Grand Rapids Griffins Practice Worn Jersey
Lot #417

This white knit practice jersey by Bauer was worn circa the late 1990’s by Danton Cole during Grand Rapids Griffins practice sessions. The Winnipeg Jets selected Cole in the 6th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. This Pontiac, MI native made his NHL debut in 1989-90 with the Winnipeg Jets where he played for three seasons. Cole became an inaugural member of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992-93 and spent three more years with the club before a fruitful deal sent him to the New Jersey Devils in the spring of 1995 just in time to win his first and only Stanley Cup. Danton wrapped up his 7-year NHL career after stints with the New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks. Following his NHL career, Cole spent four years with the Grand Rapids Griffins, beginning in their inaugural season and became their Team Captain. When his playing days were done, Danton spent the next two decades mainly as a Head Coach, including five seasons with the Grand Rapids Griffins, four more with Team USA and most recently a couple of years with Michigan State.

Nice use abounds on this size 54 practice jersey that includes stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and fine inner pilling. A nice keepsake worn by this legendary member of the Griffins.
