This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Tomas Jonsson during the late 1980’s. The New York Islanders selected Jonsson in the 2nd round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. This Swedish native joined the Islanders dynasty in 1981 and went to the Cup Finals in his first 3 seasons in the NHL, walking away with 2 rings. All told Jonsson spent 8 seasons playing in the NHL, all but 20 games with the New York Islanders. He played an integral part on the Islanders defense and spent a good amount of time on the power play alongside Denis Potvin on the point. Jonsson spent 4 years playing in the Swedish Elite League before coming to North America and after leaving the NHL in 1989 played for another 9 seasons with Sweden’s best before retiring in 1998 after a 20-year career.
The game wear on this size 52 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, washed out bloodstains and fine inner pilling. A nice late career gamer from this former Islanders dynasty member.
