Late 1980’s Paul Gillis Quebec Nordiques Game Worn Jersey
Lot #706

GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to bring this exciting collection of game worn enforcers and tough guys to the hobby exclusively thru our Fall 2017 Auction. These 14 NHL and minor league game worn jerseys have been held in a private collection since being purchased beginning nearly 20 years ago and have been out of hobby circulation ever since. Included in this group of legendary tough guys are some extremely difficult to find players and styles, some which are being offered at auction for the first time!

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Paul Gillis during the 1987-88 or 1988-89 NHL season. The Quebec Nordiques selected Gillis in the 2nd round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. This Toronto native made his NHL debut with the Nordiques in 1982-83 and spent 9 seasons playing his home games at Le Colisee. Gillis finished up his year career with a few seasons split between the Chicago Blackhawks and Hartford Whalers. This tough guy was quick to stand up for his teammates and despite standing at less than 6’ tall he took on the best of them. In 624 career games played Gillis accumulated 1498 PIMS.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer from Le Colisee, un-repaired burn holes, gashes and trauma, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. Most remarkable of all is the superb condition of this jersey, with barely any loss to the name, numbers or fleur-di-lis, a true condition rarity.
