Ken Hodge Boston Bruins Sher-Wood Game Used Stick 1971-72 Team Signed Stanley Cup Season PSA/DNA
Lot #536

This Sher-Wood hockey stick was game used by Ken Hodge while playing for the Boston Bruins during the 1971-72 Stanley Cup winning season. Hodge was born in Birmingham, England, one of the few British born players in NHL history. Hodge started his career with the Black Hawks, playing 1 game in 1964-65 and then in the 1965-66 and 1966-67 seasons. In a blockbuster trade, the Black Hawks traded Hodge, along with Phil Esposito and Fred Stanfield to the Bruins before the 1967-68 season. The trade turned the Bruins into a powerhouse, a team that captured 2 Stanley Cup Championships and went to the Finals in 1973-74. Hodge finished his NHL career with a couple of seasons on Broadway. All told this 6’2” power forward had 328 Goals and 800 Points in 881 Games Played.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player number and name “8 Hodge” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. The stick has been autographed by 21 members of the 1971-72 Bruins Stanley Cup winning team including Bobby Orr, Ken Hodge, Ed Johnston Ace Bailey (d. 2001), Reg Leach, Gerry Cheevers, Ed Westfall, Fred Stanfield, John McKenzie, Mike Walton, Phil Esposito, Don Marcotte, John Bucyk, Dallas Smith, Rick Smith and Tom Johnson (d. 2007). The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition. The autographs are PSA/DNA authenticated.
