Keith Magnuson Autographed 8x10 Wire Photo Deceased
Lot #546

Keith Magnuson played 11 seasons in the NHL all with the Chicago Black Hawks. Magnuson was a staple on the blueline for the Hawks, helping lead them to two Stanley Cup finals. You would never know that Maguson scored 14 goals in his entire NHL career considering how revered he was in Chicago. He was Captain of the Hawks from 1976-1980 and played in 2 NHL All Star games. His player number "3", along with Pierre Pilote was retired by the Hawks in 2008.

On December 15, 2003, at the age of 54, Magnuson was killed when the car he was in swerved into the oncoming lane and collided with another vehicle. The driver of the car, former NHL defenseman Rob Ramage, was convicted on five counts of impaired driving causing death. On January 17, 2008, Ramage was sentenced to 4 years in prison.

The photo is in beautiful condition and reads “4/16/73-CHICAGO: Chicago Black Hawks’ Keith Magnuson is hopeful the Black Hawks are Number 1 as he rests in Henrotin Hospital after having his jaw wired. The scrappy defenseman had his jaw fractured when hit squarely by a puck of a slapshot by New York Rangers’ Brad Park during semi-final playoff game 4/15. Black Hawks coach Billy Reay hopes Magnuson will be able to play in four or five days, probably with a protective mask”.

The signature is a 10.
