Jon Casey St. Louis Blues Mask
Lot #200

This item comes directly from the personal collection of Hall of Fame Trainer, Ken “Doc” Fleger.

This beautiful goalie mask was created by Dom Malerba, the man behind The Pro’s Choice mask company. Casey, a Minnesota native, spent the first 8 years of his NHL career with the hometown Minnesota North Stars. He was the man in goal during the Stars 1991 Stanley Cup Finals march, eventually falling at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins. In the 91 playoffs, Casey led all goalies in games played with 23 and victories with 14. The 1989-90 season saw Casey lead the NHL in wins with a total of 31. Following the Stars departure from the Twin Cities, Casey moved on to the Bruins where he played 1 season and then St. Louis, where he spent the final 3 years of his career.

This beautiful hand painted creation by Dom Malerba is completely original in all respects. Dom’s trademark The Pro’s Choice stickers, his Made in America sticker and his dated signature from 1996 are found inside just as they’re supposed to be. A custom sweat band is attached inside by Velcro just where Casey’s forehead would lie. The backplate with “Casey” painted on and the chin guard remains perfectly affixed by the original straps and snaps. This mask shows definite signs of use, though in the limited time we’ve had it we haven’t yet been able to find a picture of Casey wearing it.
