Description
John Vanbiesbrouck New York Rangers Blue Louisville Game Used Stick - Rookie
Lot #810
This blue Louisville TPS hockey stick was game used by John Vanbiesbrouck while playing for the New York Rangers during the 1984-85 season, his rookie year. Beezer’s NHL career spanned 20 seasons. He spent the first 11 of them with the New York Rangers. In 1993-94 Beezer joined the expansion Florida Panthers, where he remained for 5 years. Vanbiesbrouck next tended goal for two seasons in Philadelphia, which preceded a year with the Islanders and a final stint with the Devils. During his career he won 374 games, registered 40 shutouts and posted a 2.97 GAA. He partook in 3 NHL All Star games and was twice a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star. In 1986 he captured the Vezina Trophy as the leagues top goalie.

John represented Team USA in the 1998 Olympic Games as well as the 1987 and 1991 Canada Cups. The Stanley Cup would ultimately elude him, but not for the lack of effort, as we all remember him carrying the upstart Florida Panthers on his back to the Finals only to fall to Patrick Roy and his mighty Colorado Avalanche squad.

This blue Louisville hockey stick has the player name “Vanbiesbrouck” stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. It is date stamped “FEB 14 1985”. Other than a chip out of the paddle, it is uncracked and in very nice condition.
