A signed letter from Mr. Shipman will accompany your purchase.

This Sher-Wood PMP 7000 hockey stick was game used by John Leclair while playing for Team USA during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. The Montreal Canadiens selected Leclair in the 2nd round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. With better than 400 goals to his credit, Leclair clearly established himself as one of the best power forwards of the 1990’s. Leclair, who is a St. Albans, Vermont native, graduated from the University of Vermont in 1991 and began his NHL career in 1990-91 with the Canadiens. During his second full season in the league, John’s timely playoff scoring helped lead the underdog Canadiens to the 1993 Stanley Cup championship. John partook in numerous NHL All Star games and was 5-times a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star at Left Wing. After his trade to Philadelphia in 1994, Leclair formed a terrorizing duo on the Legion of Doom alongside Eric Lindros for much of the remainder of the 1990’s, wreaking havoc on opponents. He tabbed 50 goals in 3 consecutive seasons and followed those up with a couple of 40-goal years before a back injury took its toll. Lecalir joined the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2005-06 and played two final seasons before retiring in 2007. All told, this perennial All Star scored 406 Goals in his NHL career. On the international stage Leclair represented Team USA in the 1996 World Cup of hockey, where he was voted a World Cup All Star, as well as in the Olympics. Also to his credit are 2 Bud Ice Plus/Minus awards. Leclair was inducted into the Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame on November 20, 2014.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player name and number “Leclair 10” stamped on the side. The butt and blade tape have been removed so it could be autographed. One side of the stick was sanded down to make room for autographs. Autographs include Brian Leetch, Brett Hull, Bryan Smolinski, Tony Amonte, Jim Carey, Bill Guerin, Chris Chelios, Derian Hatcher, Gary Suter, Shawn McEachern, Joel Otto, Brian Rolston, Doug Weight, Scott Young, Mike Modano, Pat LaFontaine, Steve Konowalchuk, Mike Richter, Guy Herbert, Shawn Chambers, Brian Rolston, Kevin Hatcher, John Leclair, Keith Tkachuk, Mathieu Schneider, John Cunniff, Ron Wilson and Paul Holmgren. The stick and the autographs are in very nice condition and comes directly from the personal collection of former Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer John Shipman and is accompanied by his signed LOA.
