Description
Joe Watson Philadelphia Flyers Alumni/Old-Timers Worn Jersey AHL/NHL
Lot #552
This orange air-knit jersey by SP was worn by former Flyers defenseman Joe Watson during an exhibition game between the Flyers and the AHL affiliate Philadelphia Phantoms. Joe joined the Flyers after a season in Boston for their inaugural season of 1967-68 after being chosen in the 1967 expansion draft. He had the honor, while playing with the Bruins, to be Bobby Orr’s defensive partner. He became a staple on the “Broad Street Bullies” blueline, teaming with his brother Jimmy as part of the Flyers back to back Stanley Cup Championships in the mid 1970’s. Joe played with the Flyers through the 1977-78 season, then played one season in Colorado before hanging up his skates. Joe, along with his brother Jimmy, are members of the BC Sports Hall of Fame.

This jersey has the player name “Watson” on back. The jersey features the Flyers crest on the front while the Phantoms logo is featured on both shoulders. The AHL logo is on the back hem. There is an autograph on the back player number one which is personalized “To Mike”.
