Joe Thornton San Jose Sharks Black CCM Game Worn Gloves Autographed
Lot #413

These black hockey gloves by CCM were game worn by MVP Joe Thornton while playing for the San Jose Sharks. The Boston Bruins selected Thornton with the 1st overall pick in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Thornton began his NHL career with the Bruins in 1997-98 at the age of 18. It was during Joe’s 8th NHL season that the Bruins decided to trade him to San Jose. Ironically, Joe was off to a quick start that year with the Bruins, a trend that accelerated after arriving in the Shark Tank. The 2005-06 season saw Thornton assist on 92 goals and score 114 points, both career best totals that were good enough to capture the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s MVP as well as the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL’s leading scorer. This was the first time that such honors were awarded to a player that played for two different teams in a season. Joe has now completed 14 seasons with the Sharks. In a career that has thus far spanned over 1500 games, Thornton is averaging about a point per over the course of his 21-year NHL career. Thornton is already in the NHL’s top 15 for all-time points and he sits 8th for all-time assists. Joe was named 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star 4 times and has played in 6 NHL All Star games. On the international stage, Thornton has represented Team Canada in the World Championships, 2 World Cups of Hockey and 2 Olympics, winning Gold in the 2004 and 2016 World Cups of Hockey and the 2010 Olympic Games.

These black CCM Gloves have the player name “Thornton” on the wrist. Joe has autographed both glove on the cuff in silver sharpie.
