This beautiful goalie mask was worn by Jamie Storr during the very early part of his career while playing with the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings selected Storr with the 7th overall pick in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Because Storr spent the majority of his early seasons in the Kings minor league system, and did not play the minimum amount of games to be considered a rookie (25), he was actually eligible to be on the NHL All Rookie Team multiple times and was in fact named to the team twice. Although his first season with the Kings was 1994-95, he was considered an eligible rookie until 1998-99. After 9 seasons in LA, Storr spent a year with the Carolina Hurricanes before going to Germany where he finished his goaltending career.
This mask was originally obtained from Harris Peet, a former Kings equipment assistant who received the mask directly from Storr. The mask has a Japanese theme in honor of Storr’s Japanese heritage. The back plate has a great southern California palm tree motif. The mask shows very nice game use. Shown above are some beautiful photos of Storr wearing this exact mask.
