Description
Ian Wilkie WHA New York Raiders Game Used Stick Autographed
Lot #638

This Sher-Wood hockey stick was game used by Ian Wilkie while playing for the New York Raiders during the 1972-73 WHA season, the only season of the Raiders franchise. Wilkie was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft. Ian played for the Long Island Ducks in the EHL before a brief WHA career that saw him take the ice for the Raiders, Los Angeles Sharks and Edmonton Oilers.

This Sher-Wood stick has the player name “Wiltie” (misspelled) stamped on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. Ian has autographed the side “Best wishes Jill – Ian Wilkie #1 NY Raiders”. It is date stamped “11 SEP 1972”. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition. This stick was acquired by us in the late 1990’s from Barry Rednor, a member of the board of directors of the New York Raiders.
