Description
Harry Howell Los Angeles Kings Personal Autographed Original Portrait – Harry Howell Letter
Lot #473
This 20 x 26 framed stunning original artwork was painted by Jaroslav Jerrygebr in 1973 for Hall of Famer Harry Howell. Howell started his career in 1952-53 with the New York Rangers.  He played the first 17 years of his career on Broadway, before joining the Oakland Seals in 1969-70.  After a year and a half in Oakland, Howell played two and half years with the Los Angeles Kings before moving to the WHA.  Howell played 3 seasons in the WHA, 2 with the Golden Blades/Knights/Mariners franchise and a final season with the Calgary Cowboys before calling it a career.  Howell played 24 seasons and in almost 1600 games.

Howell was a 1st team NHL All Star in 1967, winning the Norris trophy in the process, and played in 7 NHL All Star games.  After wining the Norris trophy in 1967, Howell said he was glad he won the trophy then because Bobby Orr would own the trophy for some time to come.  Orr would win the next eight consecutive trophies.  When he retired, Howell had played in more games at defense than anyone else in history.  His player #3 was retired by the Rangers in 2009.  After retiring, Howell coached the Minnesota North Stars in 1978-79 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979.

This original artwork hung in the home of Harry Howell. It will be accompanied by a letter from Howell stating that “This is my personal, signed, color portrait.
