Guy Lafleur Montreal Canadiens Real Diamond & Gold Tribute Ring Full Presentation Box Limited Edition #8 of 10 Guy Lafleur Letter
Lot #687

This stunning Diamond & gold tribute ring by Jostens was produced to pay tribute to the Hall of Fame career of Guy Lafleur with the Montreal Canadiens. The Montreal Canadiens ensured the continuation of their dominance over the NHL when they selected Guy Lafleur with the 1st overall pick in the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft. Lafleur would go on to establish himself as one of the all-time greats in the history of the sport. He is so recognized in the revered ‘The Hockey News’ book from the 1990’s that ranked the 50 greatest players in NHL history. Guy was honored as the 11th greatest player in NHL history in that prestigious publication.

His numerous career accomplishments include 6 NHL All Star appearances, 6 consecutive 1st Team NHL All Star selections, spanning 1975-1980, the 1977-78 plus/minus award, the 1977 Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP, 3 Art Ross Trophies for leading the NHL in scoring, 3 Lester B. Pearson Awards as the NHL’s outstanding player and 2 Hart Trophies as the NHL’s MVP.

In the 6-year period between 1974-75 and 1979-80, Lafleur was the face not only of the Montreal Canadiens, but also of the entire NHL as he flat out dominated the sport. Guy netted 50 goals or more in each of those 6 consecutive seasons. During that period, he averaged 54 goals, 74 assists and 128 points per season. In 1126 regular season games Guy totaled 560 goals, 793 assists and 1353 points. In 128 playoff contests, Lafleur tallied another 58 goals and 134 points. He won 5 Stanley Cups in the 7-year period from 1973-1979 and helped his Montreal Canadiens to dynasty status with 4 consecutive Stanley Cup titles from 1976-1979. Guy is the all-time leading scorer in the great history of the Montreal Canadiens and his number "10" has been retired to the rafters.

Guy’s famous #10 sits front and center made of 18 real diamonds set on a large red stone background. Above and below the player number is the player name “GUY LAFLEUR”. To the right and left are Guy’s playing years with the Canadiens “1971” to the left and “1985” to the right. The right shank lists some of Lafleur’s greatest accomplishments. It reads “560 Career Goals”, “Hall of Fame 1988”, “Stanley Cups 5”, “Conn Smythe Trophy 1977”, “Ross Trophy 1976-77-78” and “Hart Trophy 1977-78”. On the left shank is a facsimile of Guy’s autograph, an image of the old Montreal Forum and the date his famous #10 was retired “#10 RETIRED 16-02-85”. Another Guy Lafleur facsimile autograph is engraved on the inside with 8/10. Also engraved on the inside is “JOSTENS 10K”.

This size 11 ring weighs approx. 33 grams, is in beautiful condition and will come in the original mahogany presentation box which has a golden facsimile autograph across the top. This spectacular limited edition tribute ring will be accompanied by a letter signed by Guy Lafleur.
