Lot #526

This beautiful matted & framed display, measuring 17 x 19, commemorates the Hall of Fame career of Gerry Cheevers. Cheevers began carving out his Hall of Fame NHL career between the pipes back in 1961-62 as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He joined the Boston Bruins in 1965-66 and spent the remaining 12 years of his NHL career in Boston where he won a pair of Stanley Cups. Cheevers also spent 4 seasons in the WHA where he became one of the league’s greatest stars, tending goal for the Cleveland Crusaders. Cheesy played goal for Team Canada during the 1974 Summit Series and the 1976 Canada Cup. He was named the winner of the Ben Hatskin Trophy as the WHA’s top goaltender during the leagues inaugural season and led the WHA in shutouts in each of his 3 full years in the league. Cheevers was 3-times a 1st or 2nd Team WHA All Star who played in both NHL and WHA All Star Games. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985.

This beautiful display has an 8 x 10 color autographed photo of Gerry on the left. The right has two autographed pucks, a Bruins puck and a Hall of Fame puck, surrounding a replica of Gerry’s famous stitched mask. The display is in beautiful condition.
