Bergman began his NHL career with the Red Wings in 1964-65 after 4 seasons in the AHL. He would go on to play in 12 NHL seasons, 10+ for the Wings, a partial season with the North Stars and a final season with the Scouts. This defenseman was a member of the 1972 Team Canada squad that defeated the Russians in the Summit Series, playing in all 8 games in the series. Bergman was an NHL All Star in 1973. Bergman died in December of 2000 at the age of 62.
