Description
Garry Howatt Hartford Whalers Koho Game Issued Stick
Lot #662
This Koho hockey stick was issued for use by Garry Howatt while playing for the Hartford Whalers. The New York Islanders selected Howatt in the 10th round of the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft. He began his NHL career on the Island during the franchise’s inaugural season of 1972-73 and thus became one of only a few original New York Islanders to win the Stanley Cup some eight years later. Howatt spent 9 seasons with the Islanders and provided the team with spark and muscle despite his small frame. He would win 2 Stanley Cups with the Islanders before finishing his career with the Whalers and Devils. In 720 games played, this firecracker amassed 1836 PIMS and took on all comers no matter their size. Howatt didn’t slow down come playoff time as he partook in 87 playoff contests with the Islanders and accumulated a remarkable 289 PIMS!

This Koho stick has the player name “Howatt” stamped on the side. The stick is un-taped and shows no use. It is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
