Evgeni Malkin Pittsburgh Penguins Black Easton Game Used Stick – Autographed
Lot #403
This black Easton S19 hockey stick was game used by MVP Evgeni Malkin. The Pittsburgh Penguins selected Malkin with the 2nd overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He joined the Penguins and began his NHL career in style winning the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year in 2006-07. During his 2nd season, Evgeni scored 47 goals and 106 points finishing 2nd to Alex Ovechkin for the NHL scoring title. He was named a finalist for the Hart and Pearson Trophies for his sophomore season's work. His impressive skill set helped the Penguins to the Stanley Cup Finals that year where they fell at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings.

2008-09 would be different, as Malkin would overtake Ovechkin and win the scoring title, good for his first Art Ross Trophy. His phenomenal work wasn’t complete. He would continue his torrid scoring through the playoffs and helped lead the Penguins to the Stanley Cup title while being named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoff MVP with an amazing 36 point outburst in 24 games. Thus, Evgeni became the first-ever Russian born player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy! An injury limited Malkin to 67 games in 2009-10. He still registered better than a point per game with a 77-point effort. The 2010-11 season saw Malkin again fall prey to injury, limiting him to 43 games. After a lengthy rehab, this superstar winger was back in the fold in a big way, as he had again become the Penguins go to man on the strength of a 50-goal and 109-point season in 2011-12 that earned him his 2nd Art Ross Trophy. So good in fact was his 2011-12 season, that Evgeni also won the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s MVP as well as the Ted Lindsay Award as the NHL’s most outstanding player. Malkin, who is only 28, has already played in 4 NHL All Star games and was already named a 1st Team NHL All Star 3 times! Malkin’s 2013-14 season was another solid one with 23 goals and 72 points in only 60 games played. Evgeni again averaged more than a point per game in 2014-15.

This black Easton hockey stick has the player nicknam “Gino” on the side. The stick is fully taped on the butt and blade. Evgeni has autographed the blade. The stick is uncracked and in beautiful condition.
