Early 2000's Kevin Weekes Tampa Bay Lightning Bauer Game Worn Mask Photo Matched
Lot #525

This beautiful painted goalie mask by Bauer was game worn by Kevin Weekes while playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the early 2000's. The Florida Panthers selected Weekes in the 2nd round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After only one season with Florida, Kevin joined the Vancouver Canucks in 1999-00 in a trade that included Pavel Bure. Midway thru the 1999-00 season, he was dealt to the New York Islanders. After the season he joined the Tampa Bay Lightning for two seasons and then spent parts of three seasons in Carolina with the Hurricanes. Weekes joined the New York Rangers after the NHL lockout and played on Broadway for two seasons before joining the New Jersey Devils for his final two NHL seasons where he completed his career.

This beautifully painted Lightning mask was made by Bauer and customized by “The Pro’s Choice” whose stickers are on the inside. The mask was then painted twice, first by Ron Slater and then by Tony Jarrett of the “Masked Expressions”, both of whom are noted inside. The backplate has “#80” and the nickname “Shady Eighty”. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Weekes wearing this exact mask while playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning. The last photo before the photo match shows what the mask looked like when it was originally painted by Ron Slater. The mask shows nice game use with all interior padding intact. A beautiful piece from the 11-year NHL veteran.
