Cruz began his career in the WHL and spent parts of 3 of his 4 seasons in the league with the Brandon Wheat Kings before playing for the Tri-City Americans and the Portland Winter Hawks. Other stops included the SPHL and the ECHL where Jomar tended goal for Macon, Winston Salem, Fayetteville, Pensacola and Huntsville.
