Early 1980's Wayne Babych Blues Game Worn Jersey
Lot #32

This road blue dureen gamer by Sandow was worn by 50-goal man Wayne Babych circa the early 1980’s. Babych broke into the NHL with the Blues in 1978-79 after being the 3rd overall selection in the 1978 NHL amateur draft. He was an immediate success, tabbing 27 goals in 67 games played in his rookie season. Two years later, in 1980-81, Babych lit the lamp 54 times which would be a career best for him. After 6 seasons in St. Louis, Wayne moved on to Pittsburgh, Hartford and Quebec.

This spectacular vintage dureen was worn right around the era that Wayne had his eye popping 54 goal season. The game use is solid with many stick marks and board burns, fine pilling, un-repaired burn holes and half a dozen team-sewn repairs. A fine quarter century old offering of one of the best styles in the Blues 40+ year history.
