Early 1980's Bob Bourne Islanders Game Worn Jersey
Lot #42

This road blue mesh gamer by Sandow was worn by Bobby Bourne during the heart of the New York Islanders dynasty of the early 1980’s. Bourne, who was one of the leagues fastest skaters and best penalty killers, began his NHL career on Long Island in 1974 with the Islanders. He remained with the Islanders for 12 seasons, which saw him win 4 consecutive Stanley Cups and fall just shy of a 5th in the 1984 Finals. He was 3-times a 30-goal scorer and endeed his career with 258 goals. Bobby was the winner of the 1988 Bill Masterton Trophy which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. Bob’s 35 goal season in 1980-81 earned him a spot in the 1981 NHL All Star game.

Worn during the Stanley Cup years, this fantastic sweater shows solid game use consisting of many stick marks, board burns, un-repaired holes and fine inner pilling.
