Description
Early 1970ís Boston Braves Prototype Jersey
Lot #91

This stunning early 1970’s dureen tie-down jersey by Wilson was produced as a prototype, but never used, by the Boston Braves, the Boston Bruins affiliate in the AHL. The Braves existed as a franchise for 3 seasons, 1971-72 through 1973-74. Hockey was at its height in Boston, as the Big Bad Bruins with Orr, Espo and the rest of the gang winning 2 Stanley Cups in a 3-year span in the early 1970’s.

This vintage dureen has the original Wilson tag in the collar. While the Brave color scheme is the same, the spectacular Braves logo adorns the front, different from the Braves scripted team name you’ll see on game worn jerseys. This vibrant prototype is the only one of its kind that we have seen and may in fact be the only one to exist in the hobby. A beautiful item for the vintage minor league collector who thought they’d seen it all.
